Ruth Juliet Lunkuse, Finance and Special Projects Director (DEI Embrace Foundation) has become acutely aware of people who may be exhibiting symptoms of mental illness.

“I have become more perceptive and can identify a hurting soul before they speak. I am an interior decorator, and while interacting with a client, I noticed that she seemed very bitter and rude and wanted her husband to pay all the costs. With time and frequent interactions, I earned her trust, and she shared the history of their relationship.

Her husband had cheated on her, and they broke up briefly. They later reconciled, but she had not forgiven him. We talked several times and she admitted that he had changed. He was also still a good provider and stayed with her despite her attitude and behaviour. Lydia asked me to also speak to her husband and help him understand her. The family is now living together peacefully.”
